(KGET) \u2014 To help strengthen its\u00a0presence\u00a0in California, Walmart has announced it will remodel\u00a0more than 50 of its stores across the state \u2013 including one Bakersfield location.<\/p>\n<p>The retail giant said it is planning to upgrade some stores around the state, including expanding\u00a0healthy\u00a0foods\u00a0options, affordable \u201con-trend\u201d items and enhancing both the in-store and online shopping\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kget.com\/plus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Watch \u2018After Sunrise\u2019 on KGET+; Click to learn how to get KGET+ on your smart TV devices;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> Watch \u2018After Sunrise\u2019 on KGET+; Click to learn how to get KGET+ on your smart TV devices <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Out of its 56 California stores being remodeled, the Walmart store in northeast Bakersfield,\u00a0located\u00a0at\u00a02601 Fashion\u00a0Place,\u00a0will see new investments.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the remodel will include upgrading store layouts,\u00a0technology\u00a0and services to \u201coffer faster, more convenient shopping and delivery in as little as an hour for most customers,\u201d the company said in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>It will also include free pharmacy deliveries for Walmart+ members, including weight loss drugs, like GLP-1s. <\/p>\n<p>The company\u00a0said\u00a0\u201cthese efforts reflect Walmart\u2019s commitment to supporting economic growth and strengthening communities statewide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walmart locations in Fresno and Porterville will be remodeled as well.<\/p>\n<p>Across the state, the grocery store chain has invested more than\u00a0$1.1 billion\u00a0across the state over the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
