Pat Metheny<\/a> is ready to once again delight his loyal contingent of local fans.<\/p>\n

The phenomenal guitarist, who has scored a number of gold-selling albums, performs three shows in three different cities in Northern California.<\/p>\n

First up, Metheny<\/a> plays May 1 at the Masonic in San Francisco. Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets start at $64, ticketmaster.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

From there, the jazz artist plays at 8 p.m. May 2 at the Crest Theater in Sacramento (tickets start at $84, ticketmaster.com<\/a>) and then at 7:30 p.m. May 3 at Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz (tickets start at $89.25, kuumbwajazz.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Having first skyrocketed to widespread fame \u2014 as well as the top of the charts \u2014 as the leader of the acclaimed Pat Metheny Group in the late \u201970s, the guitarist\/bandleader\/composer has accomplished so much during his stellar career.<\/p>\n

For starters, let\u2019s mention the fact that Metheny<\/a> is a 20-time Grammy winner. Yet, what might be even more impressive \u2014 certainly in terms of underscoring his musical versatility \u2014 is that Metheny is also reportedly the only artist in history to win Grammys in 10 different categories.<\/p>\n

His latest effort is \u201cSide-Eye III+\u201d \u2014 the new album from the guitarist\u2019s Side-Eye musical project \u2014 which Metheny<\/a> is supporting on this current road show. The album features Chris Fishman on keyboards and Joe Dyson on drums as well as other artists.<\/p>\n
