A man was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle along the 105 Freeway near the West Athens neighborhood of South Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol told NBC Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
As the man and his car were found near the Vermont exit, all eastbound lanes except for the #5 lane were closed as of Thursday afternoon. <\/p>\n
Images from NewsChopper4 showed the right-side rear window of the car was shattered.<\/p>\n
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. <\/p>\n
CHP officials said the case was being investigated as possible highway violence.<\/p>\n
It was not immediately clear who shot the man or how the man ended up with the gunshot wounds. The CHP did not have a suspect description as of Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
