LONG BEACH, Calif. \u2013 The Wisconsin men’s track and field team opened competition in California at the Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday, highlighted by Joshua Onwunili’s win the 100 meters.<\/p>\n

Onwunili won the 100 meters in a time of 10.13 seconds, marking the No. 4 fastest wind-aided performance in Wisconsin history.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the 400 meters, Zion Omotesa<\/a> paced Wisconsin with a fifth-place finish in 47.76, while Farraj Al Amin placed 22nd in 48.78 and Lorenz Forsmann<\/a> finished 25th in 48.97. Forsman also competed in the 200 meters, finishing 48th in 22.14.<\/p>\n

In the field events, Kyle Clabough<\/a> led the Badgers with an 11th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 56 feet, 3 \u00bc inches (17.15 meters). Jake Schafer added a throw of 164 feet, 4 inches (50.09 meters) in the discus.<\/p>\n

Up Next: Wisconsin continues competition in California with the Beach Invitational beginning at 10:15 a.m., with results available on Finished Timing<\/a>. The Badgers will also compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational, which starts at 9:00 a.m. and can be streamed on FloTrack,<\/a> with results provided by Finished Timing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
