LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State track and field split competition Thursday, with the majority of the squad hosting the Pacific Coast Invitational at Jack Rose Track while one distance runner competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa.<\/p>\n

The Beach turned in a number of solid performances at home across both track and field events.<\/p>\n

WOMEN

\nJonelle Scott<\/a>\u00a0competed in the 100 meters, finishing in 12.18, while\u00a0Ndiah Hall<\/a>\u00a0ran 15.99 in the 100-meter hurdles.\u00a0Elisa Rodriguez<\/a>\u00a0led the Beach in the 800 meters with a seventh-place finish in 2:19.12.<\/p>\n

In the field events,\u00a0Kyra Miedecke<\/a>\u00a0recorded a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 43.89 meters (144′ 0).\u00a0Giszelle Hrehor<\/a>\u00a0led the hammer throw group with a seventh-place mark of 60.27 meters (197′ 9), while\u00a0Amanda Javellana<\/a>\u00a0also competed with a throw of 54.97 meters (180′ 4).<\/p>\n

Sammy Chang<\/a>\u00a0(46.18m, 151′ 6) and\u00a0Mai Ricks<\/a>\u00a0(43.74m, 143′ 6) competed in the discus, while\u00a0Amelia Gray<\/a>\u00a0posted a mark of 5.20 meters (17′ 0 \u00be) in the long jump.\u00a0Madeline Scovil<\/a>\u00a0added a mark of 11.37 meters (37′ 3 \u00be) in the triple jump.<\/p>\n

MEN

\nOn the track,\u00a0VJ Vanderlipe<\/a>\u00a0(10.99) and\u00a0Miguel Orozco<\/a>\u00a0(11.02) competed in the 100 meters. In the 800 meters,\u00a0Cash Obando<\/a>\u00a0led the group with a seventh-place finish in 1:59.07, followed by\u00a0Brandon Day<\/a>\u00a0in ninth (2:00.40), while\u00a0Ethan Florez<\/a>\u00a0also competed (2:02.05).<\/p>\n

In the field events,\u00a0Quinten Flowers<\/a>\u00a0highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the long jump, posting a mark of 7.11 meters (23′ 4), which ranks sixth all-time in program history.\u00a0Steven Evans-Glynn<\/a>\u00a0added a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.96 meters (6′ 5).<\/p>\n

The hammer throw group saw\u00a0Eman Goodloe<\/a>\u00a0record a mark of 64.03 meters (210′ 1), while\u00a0Tyler Knowles<\/a>\u00a0added a throw of 61.04 meters (200′ 3).<\/p>\n

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL

\nNataly Toledo<\/a>\u00a0represented the Beach in the women’s 10,000 meters, posting a time of 39:06.06 to open competition in Azusa.<\/p>\n

Long Beach State will continue competition this weekend with additional events at the Beach Invitational, MT. SAC Relays, and the Bryan Clay Invitational.
