Hunter Biden is hiding from his creditors in California, avoiding paying over $20 million he owes various people, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n
Although a lawyer for the former first son claimed he is \u201cliving abroad\u201d in South Africa<\/a>, where his wife Melissa Cohen hails from, he\u2019s actually holed up at luxury 8,000-acre estate in Santa Ynez, two hours north of Los Angeles, sources claim.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s been telling everyone that he is living in South Africa because he has no money, but it\u2019s a ruse, to show that he is broke and can\u2019t pay his bills,\u201d said a source close to the Biden family.<\/p>\n Those bills are considerable \u2014 with around $15 to $17 million owed to a high-powered legal team in DC, $5 million to his former pal and \u201cSugar Brother,\u201d Kevin Morris and $1 million to his former art dealer.<\/a><\/p>\n Hunter Biden with politician Michael Tubbs posing by one of his artworks at one of his gallery openings. He and Cohen were spotted in Cape Town at various points over 2025 and as recently as March this year.<\/p>\n However, at Easter on April 5 he was pictured at the compound of Iranian-born entrepreneur Joe Kiani, who hosted the whole Biden clan, including his ex-president father, Joe Biden.<\/p>\n Medical tech CEO Kiani was a big supporter of Biden Snr. and his 8,000-acre estate is where he decamped in June 2024 after dropping out of the presidential race, as well as after he left the White House in 2025.<\/p>\n The Biden clan spent Easter at the lavish estate of Joe and Sarah Kiani in Santa Ynez, California. But sources told The Post he is continuing to live in California.<\/p>\n In a recent filing, Hunter\u2019s lawyer Barry Coburn said he now \u201clives abroad\u201d\u00a0and had no money to pay his debts, in a response to DC law firm Winston & Strawn which he hired \u201cto represent him in several complex matters,\u201d including federal gun and tax indictments,\u201d according to court filings.<\/p>\n In court papers released this week, Winston & Strawn demanded to see the pardoned former\u00a0first son\u2019s correspondence <\/a>with friends or Democratic Party donors\u00a0as part of a breach of contract case meant\u00a0to recoup unpaid legal debts<\/a>. By Hunter\u2019s own admission he owes them between $15 million<\/a>\u00a0and $17 million.<\/p>\n He also owes more than $5 million to Morris, a Hollywood lawyer and novelist, who completed shooting a documentary on Biden but has not yet released it, according to a source.<\/p>\n The \u201csugar brother\u201d <\/a>loaned Biden the cash to pay off taxes and other personal debts, and is reworking the documentary, which he has been filming for years. A source told The Post those who loaned Biden cash did so because he promised he would repay them with assets that he allegedly has abroad.<\/p>\n Hunter Biden did not return a request for comment Wednesday, and Coburn refused comment.<\/p>\n Biden was between 2014 and 2016 infamously being paid $83,000 a month by Ukrainian energy company Burisma, according to invoices on his laptop computer obtained by The Post. Shortly after that time is when he life started careening off the rails and he started smoking a lot of crack and other drugs, according to his memoir.<\/p>\n In the meantime, Biden is set to join \u00a0a traveling carnival <\/a>where he is billed as \u201cthe CEO of laptops,\u201d a reference to the computer <\/a>abandoned at a Delaware repair shop and first revealed by The Post.<\/p>\n The Channel Five Carnival and Talent Show features stops in Phoenix, Albuquerque and will be moderated by Hunter Biden, according to social media ads.<\/p>\n In the meantime, his ex-gallerist is hoping to shift some of the art pieces he started making as part of his sobriety journey.<\/p>\n Some of the collectors who invested in Hunter Biden\u2019s artwork are looking to unload it on the secondary market, says his former gallerist Georges Berges.
