San Diego City College will be participating in National Library Week, with multiple events happening in the LRC building<\/a> from April 20- 23.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leann Mulholland, the library department chair and cataloging librarian, is eager for National Library Week and for students to learn about what goes on in a library.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNational Library Week is really about celebrating libraries and giving people a window into what we do,\u201d Mulholland said.<\/p>\n

The library will host multiple \u201cBehind the Scenes\u201d library tours on Monday, April 20 starting at 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Two events will be taking place on Tuesday, April 21, a library workers panel from 11:15 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. in BT-306<\/a>, followed by a screening of \u201cThe Librarians\u201d film series from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the same room.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There will be a second screening of \u201cThe Librarians\u201d on Wednesday, April 22, from 1-4 p.m. in BT-306<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The author of the children\u2019s picture book \u201cThe Spirit of Chicano Park,\u201d Beatrice Zamora, will also be having a story time event on Thursday, April 23, from 5:30-6 p.m. in the library family study room, located on the second floor of the LRC building.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to attend the story time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Guest Speaker Corry Banks for Music at City, April 16<\/p>\n

The City music program will be hosting<\/a> guest speaker Corry Banks, founder of electronic musical instrument manufacturer Modbap Modular<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event will be happening on Monday, April 16, from 10-11 a.m. in C-210<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event is free, and all are welcomed to join.<\/p>\n

Active Minds April Series: Mental Health Studies and Careers, April 21<\/p>\n

City College students are invited to the Active Minds April Series event for a panel about mental health related careers on Tuesday, April 21<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The panel will feature guest clinicians and professors for students to learn from and talk to with.<\/p>\n

The event will be from 11 a.m. to noon in A-101<\/a>. No RSVP is required.<\/p>\n
