Motorsports and alternative music will collide on Sunday, April 19, as Green Day crosses paths with the NTT IndyCar Series.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to an announcement<\/a>, Green Day drummer Tre Cool will enjoy a unique experience ahead of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on the streets of Long Beach, California. He will ride in the Fastest Seat in Sports as he sits passenger in the two-seat IndyCar entry.<\/p>\n

This two-seater is a special vehicle used for ceremonial events. Notable figures have the opportunity to take part in pace laps while fully enjoying the high speeds.<\/p>\n

Many guests have ridden in the Fastest Seat in Sports. This includes multi-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady<\/a>, who rode passenger as seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson drove. Former NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer also rode passenger ahead of IndyCar’s return to Phoenix Raceway in March.<\/p>\n

Other prominent figures to ride in the Fastest Seat in Sports include actor Simu Liu, musician Jon Bon Jovi, musician Lady Gaga, actor Channing Tatum and former MLB player Alex Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

Tre Cool is one of the most recognizable drummers in the music industry. He and the Bay Area-based Green Day first rose to prominence with their album Dookie,\u00a0which boasted such songs as\u00a0Longview\u00a0and\u00a0Basket Case.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The fame continued with albums\u00a0Nimrod\u00a0and\u00a0Warning,\u00a0but Green Day hit another level with the release of\u00a0American Idiot.\u00a0The band won a Grammy for this album, which went platinum six times in the United States and eight times in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Overall, Green Day has sold more than 80 million albums. The band has taken part in multiple sports events, including playing a pre-game show for Super Bowl 60. They also played the NFL Honors pre-show back in 2021.<\/p>\n

Now, Tre Cool will take on another event as he joins forces with the NTT IndyCar Series. This crossover will come at a fitting time as Felix Rosenqvist showcases a SiriusXM\/Green Day scheme on his No. 60 Honda.<\/p>\n
