The southbound and northbound U.S. 101 Bayshore Freeway connector ramps will be closed. Throughout the weekend closure, motorists’ last EB I-80 Bayshore Freeway exit will be Vermont St. Motorists who miss Vermont, will be directed to take 9th St. off ramp and redirected through Bryant St., to re-enter the freeway at the 5th St. on ramp.

The San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge will remain open throughout the entire closure

  April 17-20, Weekend Closure Highlights:

The EB I-80 Bayshore Freeway between 17th and 4th streets.
The SB U.S. 101 Bayshore Freeway to EB I-80 connector ramp.
The NB U.S. 101 Bayshore Freeway to EB I-80 connector ramp.

Avoid the Area Throughout the Weekend
Motorists are strongly urged to stay away from this section of I‑80 for the entire weekend. Clearly marked detour routes will guide drivers around the closure. Motorists may be directed onto local streets or alternate freeway connectors to rejoin I‑80 eastbound.

These resources provide detailed visuals of the recommended detour routes.

This extended closure allows crews safe access to the freeway to perform essential structural and bridge deck rehabilitation that will enhance safety and extend its life.
