What are isolated thunderstorms?<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Weather Service, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=isolated\">isolated thunderstorms<\/a> are smaller and more short-lived than typical storms.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/local\/article290692514.html\">Isolated thunderstorms<\/a> form when moisture moves into an area, creating brief bursts of unstable weather, the weather agency previously told The Sacramento Bee.<\/p>\n<p>These storms can still bring heavy rain, but it usually doesn\u2019t last long.<\/p>\n<p>When will thunderstorms bring rain, snow to California?<\/p>\n<p>Thunderstorms could begin moving into California as early as Sunday, April 19, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis storm will bring along <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=STO&amp;issuedby=STO&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=ci&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1#:~:text=Current%20GOES%2DWest%20visible%20satellite,to%20VFR%20due%20to%20mist.\">the potential for rain<\/a>, mountain snow, isolated thunderstorms, breezy winds and cooler temperatures,\u201d the National Weather Service said.<\/p>\n<p>Rain totals could reach <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NWSSacramento\/status\/2045185525452091395?s=20\">up to 1.5 inches of rain<\/a> in Northern California, while <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=HNX&amp;issuedby=HNX&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=ci&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1\">central parts of the state<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=LOX&amp;issuedby=LOX&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=ci&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1\">coastal areas and in Southern California<\/a> could receive around 1 inch, according to an area forecast discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Winds to sweep through California<\/p>\n<p>Along with thunderstorms, windy conditions are also expected throughout California.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Friday, April 17, parts of Northern California \u2014 including the cities of Sacramento, Redding, Stockton and Modesto \u2014 could see <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NWSSacramento\/status\/2045185525452091395?s=20\">winds between 20 to 30 mph<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stronger gusts are possible elsewhere, reaching up to 50 mph along the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=LOX&amp;issuedby=LOX&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=ci&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1\">coast and in Southern California<\/a>, around <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=HNX&amp;issuedby=HNX&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=ci&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1\">55 mph in the Central Valley<\/a> and as high as <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?format=ci&amp;glossary=1&amp;issuedby=mtr&amp;product=afd&amp;site=mtr&amp;version=1\">63 mph in the Bay Area<\/a>, the National Weather Service said.<\/p>\n<p>Will the Sierra Nevada see snow?<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NWSSacramento\/status\/2045185525452091395?s=20\">Snow is expected<\/a> to return to the Sierra Nevada starting Sunday, April 19, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>Snow is forecast to hit elevations around 7,000 feet on Monday, gradually dropping to about 5,000 feet by Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22.<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NWSSacramento\/status\/2045185525452091395?s=20\">impact will be \u201cmoderate,\u201d<\/a> with travel delays, slick roads and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/california\/article314663057.html\">possible chain controls<\/a>, the weather agency said.<\/p>\n<p>In South Lake Tahoe, snowfall is expected to begin Monday, with <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=38.9416&amp;lon=-119.9772\">winter-like conditions continuing<\/a> through Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Snow is <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lon=-119.59244728088379&amp;lat=37.74539308593381\">forecast for Yosemite National Park<\/a>, starting Monday.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s in the weather forecast for Sacramento?<\/p>\n<p>The latest <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=38.5769&amp;lon=-121.495\">weather forecast for Sacramento<\/a> shows clear, sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday, with high temperatures in the upper 70s and low temperatures around 50.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, April 20, there is a 40% chance of rain. The high will near 70 degrees, while the low will be around 52 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA chance of showers and thunderstorms\u201d are possible on Tuesday, with a high near 62 and a low around 49, the National Weather Service said.<\/p>\n<p>Rain will continue on Wednesday, with a high near 66 and a low of about 48 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Skies will be \u201cmostly sunny\u201d by Thursday, the weather service said.<\/p>\n<p>Will it rain in the Central Valley?<\/p>\n<p>Rain is expected across much of Central Valley in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=37.6407&amp;lon=-121.0024\">In Modesto<\/a>, skies should remain sunny through the weekend before conditions shift, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>Rain is expected to arrive on Monday, with about a 20% chance of showers after 11 a.m. The high will reach 79 degrees, with an overnight low temperature around 54 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>By Tuesday, showers become more likely, along with a chance of thunderstorms.
