Anyone who thinks Coachella\u2019s biggest surprises are reserved for Weekend 1 was proven wrong Friday night as Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> welcomed Madonna on stage during her Weekend 2 headlining set. The crowd exploded with waves of cheers as the iconic pop star came on stage.<\/p>\n

Madge joined Carpenter as a surprise guest<\/a> during \u201cJuno,\u201d in which Carpenter reemerged in a gown that was a nod to Botticelli\u2019s \u201cThe Birth of Venus\u201d for a torch-passing duet of Madonna\u2019s 1990 pop-house gauntlet \u201cVogue.\u201d <\/p>\n

The classic was followed by the debut of the gloriously upbeat \u201cI Feel Free,\u201d the first track from the pop icon\u2019s forthcoming new album \u201cConfessions II,\u201d due out July 3.<\/p>\n

The singer announced the record, a sequel to 2005\u2019s \u201cConfessions On A Dancefloor,\u201d on April 15, alongside a 60-second teaser video for \u201cI Feel Free.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Coachella performance, however, marks the first time the song has been heard in full \u2014 a fitting full circle moment 20 after Madonna played the Sahara Tent in 2006<\/a>, complete with the same boots and costuming from that gig. \u201cConfessions II\u201d will be Madonna\u2019s first full-length album since 2019\u2019s \u201cMadame X.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s try to be together. Let\u2019s try to avoid disagreements,\u201d Madonna said as she spoke about the moon and planets aligning.<\/p>\n

Before the pair ended with \u201cLike a Prayer,\u201d accompanied by a choir, Madonna had another reason to be grateful. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is probably the first time I\u2019ve ever performed with someone shorter than me,\u201d Madonna said to Carpenter as the crowd laughed. \u201cThank you for giving me that experience.\u201d <\/p>\n
