The participants and their pups joined the 2K and 5K walks, while another 1,000 attendees enjoyed the “Bark in the Park” festival. The event helps fund care for more than 40,000 animals each year, covering medical treatments, low-cost vaccinations, and training programs. “I think the best part about ‘Doggie Dash’ is seeing so many amazing, loved animals,” said Jennifer Brent of the Sacramento SPCA. “And I think what people enjoy is being able to spend time outside with their pet on a beautiful day.” A fan-favorite returned this year, with adoptable puppies on-site and adoption fees covered by a local sponsor.
