LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State track and field wrapped up Day 2 of the Beach Invitational at Jack Rose Track with a strong showing across both the men’s and women’s teams, highlighted by record-setting performances and a celebration honoring 22 seniors.<\/p>\n
The day was highlighted with a tribute to the program’s seniors, recognizing the contributions of Trinity Barnett<\/a>, Daryana Hall<\/a>, KiiKii Brown<\/a>, Alexa Camacho<\/a>, Madeline Scovil<\/a>, Natasha King<\/a>, Marikay Schwab<\/a>, Alyssa Tapanes<\/a>, Nataly Toledo<\/a>, Giszelle Hrehor<\/a> and Rori Denness-Lamont<\/a> on the women’s side. The men honored Tristyn Flores<\/a>, Ryan Rivituso<\/a>, Quinten Flowers<\/a>, Ryan Gregory<\/a>, Milo Orona<\/a>, Miguel Orozco<\/a>, Cyprus Rice<\/a>, Cytres Vives<\/a>, Ethan Florez<\/a>, Cameron Gill<\/a> and Kyle Reden<\/a> for their impact on the program.<\/p>\n On the track, Trinity Barnett<\/a> delivered a standout senior performance, winning the 100-meter invite in 11.54, the seventh-fastest time in program history. She followed it up with a historic run in the 200 meters, placing second in 23.23 while setting a new program record, breaking a mark that had stood since 1978. Barnett also contributed to the women’s 4×400 relay team that placed fourth in 3:41.35 alongside Bree Hollins<\/a>, Zamaria Mack<\/a> and Milani Bell<\/a>.<\/p>\n The women’s sprint group saw additional strong finishes from Daryana Hall<\/a>, who posted times of 12.14 in the 100 and 24.65 in the 200, while Jaliyah Davis<\/a> clocked 12.11 and 24.69 in the same events. In the 400, Milani Bell<\/a> (56.38) and Bree Hollins<\/a> (56.66) turned in solid performances.<\/p>\n In distance events, Darcy Ray<\/a> led the way with a third-place finish in the 1500 at 4:42.28, followed by senior Nataly Toledo<\/a> in fifth (4:54.83), Brooke Willoughby<\/a> in seventh (4:58.41) and senior Natasha King<\/a> in ninth (5:06.88), while Sharice Laygo<\/a> also competed with a time of 5:19.92. Elisa Rodriguez<\/a> added a top-10 finish in the 800 with a time of 2:18.00.<\/p>\n In the hurdles, Zamaria Mack<\/a> posted a 14.50 in the 100 hurdles, while Ndiah Hall<\/a> followed at 15.74.<\/p>\n Field events saw consistent production, with Kendra Daniels<\/a> clearing 1.66m in the high jump. In the long jump, Daneira Pellum<\/a>\u00a0led the group at 5.47m, followed closely by Jenna Morales<\/a> (5.44m) and Amelia Gray<\/a> (5.27m), while senior Alexa Camacho<\/a> added a mark of 4.85m. Pellum also placed eighth in the triple jump (11.71m), with Gray in tenth-place (11.50m) and senior Madeline Scovil<\/a> (11.47m) close behind.<\/p>\n In the throws, Mai Ricks<\/a> highlighted the day with a shot put mark of 14.46m and added a 43.03m throw in discus, while Sammy Chang<\/a> led the discus group at 44.84m.<\/p>\n On the men’s side, Tristyn Flores<\/a> capped his senior day with a dominant win in the 100 meters, clocking 10.16, the second-fastest time in program history. Trey Sheron<\/a> followed with a third-place finish at 10.26, ranking 3rd in program history. Sheron later added a fourth-place finish in the 200 at 20.62, the third-best mark in program history.<\/p>\n In the 800, Lance Denhalter<\/a> (1:53.80) and Cameron Rhone<\/a> (1:54.30) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with Cash Obando<\/a> (1.56.12) also placing in the top eight. Max Ramirez<\/a> (4:15.77) and Brandon Day<\/a> (4:18.31) competed in the 1500, while Cameron Simmons<\/a> posted a 14.70 in the 110 hurdles.<\/p>\n The men’s 4×400 relay team of Sheron, Vincent Jones<\/a>, Jaden Dasher<\/a> and Flores ran 3:21.63, while Dasher also placed eighth in the 400 hurdles at 52.58.<\/p>\n In the field, Steven Evans-Glynn<\/a> delivered a first-place finish in the long jump at 7.67m, with senior Ryan Gregory<\/a> placing fifth at 7.22m. Cytres Vives<\/a> cleared 1.97m in the high jump, while VJ Vanderlipe<\/a> placed eighth in the pole vault at 5.10m, followed by senior Cyprus Rice<\/a> at 4.95m.<\/p>\n Senior Quinten Flowers<\/a> added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump invite at 14.61m. Tyler Knowles<\/a> led the discus group with a throw of 46.96m followed by Diego Herrera-Vendrell<\/a> (42.98m).<\/p>\n With a mix of veteran leadership and standout performances, the Beach closed the meet on a high note, celebrating its seniors while continuing to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
