{"id":276875,"date":"2026-04-20T14:32:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T14:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/276875\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T14:32:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T14:32:09","slug":"san-francisco-49ers-tackle-trent-williams-agree-to-50m-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/276875\/","title":{"rendered":"San Francisco 49ers, tackle Trent Williams agree to $50M extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>April 20 (UPI) &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/San-Francisco-49ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"San Francisco 49ers\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a> and All-Pro offensive tackle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Trent-Williams\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Trent Williams\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Trent Williams<\/a> agreed to a two-year, $50 million contract extension, his agency announced Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eliteloyaltysp\/status\/2046214777265918349\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Elite Loyalty Sports<\/a> said Williams&#8217; pact includes $37 million in guarantees and a $22 million signing bonus. With his new deal, the 37-year-old offensive lineman will become the first non-quarterback in NFL history to eclipse $400 million in contracts and $225 million in guarantees.\n<\/p>\n<p>Williams, the No. 4 overall pick by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Washington-Redskins\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Washington Redskins\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Washington Redskins<\/a> in the 2010 NFL Draft, joined the 49ers in a 2020 trade. He started 84 games for the NFC West franchise over the last six years, including his 16 starts in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro appeared in 204 games through his first 15 seasons in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>Williams, who will now be under contract with the 49ers through 2027, received <a href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/nfl\/positions\/2025\/REG\/offense-blocking?position=T&amp;minimum=50p\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pro Football Focus&#8217;<\/a> second-best offensive rating among tackles who were in for at least 80% of the maximum snaps played at the position last season.\n<\/p>\n<p>He rated sixth among tackles in for at least 50% of the maximum snaps played in 2024. Williams rated second among qualifying tackles in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>He was Pro Football Focus&#8217; top offensive tackle from 2020 through 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The 49ers will hold their first day of off-season workouts Monday in Santa Clara, Calif. They will hold organized team activities May 27 to 29, June 1 and June 3 and 4.
