Former NICU babies and their families were reunited with their doctors and caregivers during the Marian Regional Medical Center\u2019s annual NICU Reunion<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing our NICU graduates thrive as healthy, happy kids is the ultimate reward,\u201d said the medical center\u2019s president and CEO, Sue Anderson<\/p>\n

During the event, kids of all ages enjoyed face painting, crafts, music and more as the community gathered to celebrate the thriving children who \u201conce needed specialized care\u201d<\/p>\n

Former neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) babies and their families were reunited with their doctors and caregivers during a heartwarming celebration.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 18, the Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, Calif., hosted an annual event in which former NICU babies could be reunited with \u201cthe dedicated nurses, doctors and staff who cared for them.\u201d Only now, they are healthy and thriving children.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur annual NICU Reunion was a heartwarming celebration of life, resilience, and the incredible journeys of our tiniest patients and their families,\u201d the hospital wrote on Facebook<\/a> alongside several photos from the sweet event. \u201cFrom face painting to crafts, and smiles all around, it was a beautiful reminder of the incredible strength of our NICU families.\u201d<\/p>\n

With kids of all ages and their families enjoying photo booths, music and delicious food, the event also served as a graduation celebration<\/a> for the babies that recently made it out of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis reunion is a testament to the incredible strength and resilience of our NICU families,\u201d said Dr. Rocky Greer, the medical director of neonatology at Marian Regional Medical Center. \u201cIt\u2019s a joy to see these children, who once needed specialized care, thriving and growing alongside their families.”<\/p>\n

In addition to an incredible number of hospital staff, including neonatologists, nurses, caregivers and volunteers, who came out for the event, partners such as Santa Maria Fire Department, Santa Maria Police Department and the Children\u2019s Resource Network also made an appearance to welcome the graduates.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that Marian\u2019s NICU has touched the lives and hearts of thousands of people within the community, the medical center\u2019s president and CEO, Sue Anderson, expressed that seeing so many of their NICU graduates at the event was beyond touching for the hospital staff.<\/p>\n

“Seeing our NICU graduates thrive as healthy, happy kids is the ultimate reward,\u201d she said, per the Santa Maria Times<\/a>. \u201cIt’s a testament to the dedication of our team and the resilience of these amazing children and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n
