OAKLAND \u2014 A 39-year-old pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision April 16 in East Oakland has been identified by the coroner\u2019s bureau, authorities said Monday.<\/p>\n
He was identified as Ambrose Hicks, of Oakland.<\/p>\n
The vehicle that struck him has been recovered by police but no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
The fatal collision happened about 5:55 p.m. April 16 at the intersection of East 12th Street and 22nd Avenue. According to police, Hicks was in a crosswalk when he was struck by an Infiniti going eastbound on East 12th Street. The vehicle kept going without stopping, police said.<\/p>\n
Hicks was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.<\/p>\n
It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.<\/p>\n
This fatality remains under investigation.
