Four members of an organized retail theft crew suspected in nearly 100 heists at stores across Northern California and parts of Nevada were arrested last week, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said.<\/p>\n
The arrests on April 14 came after searches at several San Jose properties, where authorities recovered more than $83,000 in stolen merchandise from The Home Depot, TJ Maxx, and Burlington.<\/p>\n
Detectives found bags filled with new clothing and containers packed with stolen tools, the Sheriff’s Office said.<\/p>\n
Two of the suspects had allegedly been stealing from several Bay Area stores over several months and the other two suspects were allegedly re-selling the stolen items at flea markets in San Jose and Oakland.<\/p>\n
The total loss to retailers amounted to more than $100,000, the Sheriff’s Office said.<\/p>\n
The four suspects, all residents of San Jose, were identified as 24-year-old Emerson Perez, 24-year-old Isaac Perez, 61-year-old Teodulo Aguirre, and 30-year-old Sergio Rodriguez.<\/p>\n
The suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of crimes that include retail theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy.<\/p>\n
