County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2026-04-15\/hundreds-of-affordable-housing-units-funded-by-new-la-county-agency\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cHundreds of affordable housing units funded by new L.A. County agency,\u201d<\/a> April 15)! For decades, the housing and homelessness crisis has been steadily worsening, but this department is patching up one critical leak in the housing crisis. It\u2019s working toward improving housing stability, quality and affordability.<\/p>\n<p>However, the housing crisis is not just a supply-and-demand issue; incomes must increase considerably in order to keep up with rising costs. <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/DIRNews\/2025\/2025-118.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">In January 2026<\/a>, California\u2019s minimum wage increased 40 cents to $16.90 per hour.
