We can add to this farce the irony of putting $1 million dollars into the public-supported cost to fund a legal defense against suits from the public. Obviously, the city knew that people would see through its trickery. Whatever happened to \u201cgovernment for the people\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Next, of course, will come another misworded measure for a sales tax increase. This might work if it includes reverting to a city manager model, enforcing the managed competition clause in the City Charter and limiting the influence of local labor organizations.
