Pumpkins in the Park<\/p>\n

Pumpkins in the Park, Milpitas\u2019 annual Halloween tradition offers a chance for families to show off their costumes, trick-or-treat at community booths and enjoy crafts, games and performances by youth community groups. With the purchase of a Pumpkin Pass, children can also participate in activities such as a petting zoo, rock climbing wall and inflatable games.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event is set for Saturday, Oct. 25, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., at Cardoza Park, Kennedy and Park Victoria drives. Admission is free.\u00a0 Pumpkin Passes\u00a0for premium activities are $18 at cityofmilpitas.simpletix.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Saturday at the library<\/p>\n

Those who stop by the Milpitas Library on Oct. 18 can learn how to grow blueberries, get a hands-on introduction to traditional Filipino martial arts, celebrate Diwali or get tips on buying a home.<\/p>\n

For \u201cGrowing Blueberries in Santa Clara County,\u201d \u00a0set for 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Master Gardeners will discuss growing blueberries in containers and the types of blueberries that do well in this area.<\/p>\n

A certified master instructor will lead an introduction to Filipino Martial Arts from 2-3 p.m. for children and their families to learn self-defense techniques.<\/p>\n

The Diwali celebration is set for 2-4 p.m., when henna artists will give patrons a personalized design. As there will likely be a line, there will be a craft to make during the wait.<\/p>\n
