<\/p>\n ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2014\u00a0The Oakland Golden Grizzlies (10-26, 5-10 HL) lost a tense battle to Eastern Michigan (12-26, 6-15 MAC), 11-10, in extra innings on Wednesday at the Oakland Baseball Field. The game featured a dramatic back-and-forth, with Oakland rallying to tie the game in the eighth inning with two runs, forcing extra innings. Eastern Michigan ultimately secured the win in the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n Junior Ben Clark<\/a> finished the day\u00a0with four hits, including a double, and scored two runs in the game. Grad senior Carter Hain<\/a> also collected four hits, two of which were doubles, and drove in two runs. Fifth-year Kyle Revere<\/a> recorded a home run, two RBIs while scoring once as redshirt-junior\u00a0Sam Griffith<\/a> continued a hot streak, adding two hits and crossing the plate three times.<\/p>\n The action began in the first inning with both teams scoring a run each. For Oakland, Clark walked and scored on a double by redshirt-sophomore Tony Konopiots<\/a>, tying the game at 1-1 after the first frame.<\/p>\n In the second inning, the home team responded to the Eagles’s run with an RBI single by Clark. The third frame saw EMU take a 6-4 lead, highlighted by a home run and a two-RBI double. Oakland countered with a two-run effort of their own, including an RBI double by Griffith and an RBI single by Hain.<\/p>\n Eastern Michigan extended its lead to 10-5 by the end of the fifth inning before Oakland managed to add a run with a RBI groundout by sophomore Andrew Landis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Golden Grizzlies narrowed the gap in the sixth inning when Revere hit a two-run homer down to center field, followed by a run scoring on an Eagle fielding error, bringing the score to 10-8.<\/p>\n In the eighth inning, OU\u00a0tied the game at 10-10 as Hain’s RBI single and redshirt-senior Jack Lux’s<\/a> sacrifice bunt brought in two runs.<\/p>\n With the game tied, Eastern Michigan scored the decisive run in the top of the 10th inning on a sacrifice fly. Oakland was unable to respond in the bottom half, resulting in an 11-10 final score in favor of the visitors.<\/p>\n Freshman Will Paxson<\/a> started on the bump\u00a0for Oakland, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing six earned runs on four hits, and earned a strikeout. Grad senior Camden Cooper<\/a> followed, giving up two earned runs on four hits in 1.1 innings, while junior Jordan Dahlof<\/a> pitched 2.0 innings, conceding two earned runs on three hits. Coming to the mound for the first time in his collegiate career, redshirt-sophomore Boston Halloran<\/a>\u00a0faced four batters in a complete inning, going scoreless along with junior Ryan Donley<\/a>.
