{"id":281449,"date":"2026-04-23T04:08:21","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T04:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/281449\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T04:08:21","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T04:08:21","slug":"two-found-dead-in-parked-car-at-berkeleys-aquatic-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/281449\/","title":{"rendered":"Two found dead in parked car at Berkeley\u2019s Aquatic Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man and woman were found dead inside a parked car in West Berkeley\u2019s Aquatic Park on Sunday morning, the Berkeley Police Department said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Just before 11 a.m. Sunday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the southern end of the sprawling park off Interstate 80 after a caller reported a \u201chorrible\u201d smell coming from a car, department spokesperson Officer Byron White said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police located the deceased man and woman when they arrived. They also found a plastic bag full of \u201cunknown white powder,\u201d which White said raised the possibility of a fatal overdose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Alameda County Coroner has yet to determine the cause and manner of death, a spokesperson for the coroner\u2019s office said.
