THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis baseball fell 7-1 to Sacramento State on Tuesday night at Dobbins Stadium, dropping the midweek Causeway matchup at home. Sam Harry led off the game with a solo home run and the Hornets pulled away with a four-run fifth to take control. Braydon Wooldridge<\/a> drove in the Aggies’ lone run on a third-inning sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n

\n\tEveret Johnson<\/a> went 2-for-3 with a double.
\n\tTyler Howard<\/a> went 2-for-4.
\n\tKai Mault<\/a> reached base twice on a hit and a walk.
\n\tUC Davis collected eight hits as a team.
\n\tGrayson Bonanno<\/a> was a highlight on the mound, posting maybe his best outing as an Aggie, tossing\u00a02.0 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts.
\n\tCarter Speights<\/a> followed with a clean frame of his own. <\/p>\n

\nHOW IT HAPPENED<\/p>\n


\n\tSacramento State’s Sam Harry led off the game with a solo home run to center to make it 1-0.
\n\tUC Davis tied the game in the bottom of the third when Wooldridge lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Jaxon Murphy<\/a>.
\n\tThe Hornets broke through with four runs in the top of the fifth, starting with a Jace Jeremiah walk and a Cameron Sewell single, Jeremiah scoring on a passed ball, a Brett Ott RBI single, a Harry RBI triple and a wild pitch that brought Harry home.
\n\tJeremiah added a solo home run to left in the sixth to push the lead to 6-1.
\n\tSacramento State tacked on one more in the ninth on a Harry RBI single. <\/p>\n

\nUC Davis returns to action Friday, opening a weekend home series at Dobbins Stadium against Long Beach State.
