Seven-seed Air Force men’s tennis fell to two-seed San Diego State (12-11), 4-1, in the opening round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men’s Tennis Championships, held Wednesday, April 22 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n
After dropping a tough doubles round, the Falcons were unable to turn things around in singles as the Aztecs pulled away.<\/p>\n
Air Force opened doubles with the first win, as Phillip Deaton<\/a> and Matthew Staton<\/a> won at No. 3 over Anderson\/Johann 6-2. \u00a0San Diego State rallied by taking No. 1 doubles as the pair of Jack Brown<\/a> and Tyler Leaird<\/a> fell to Kleege\/Loftman 6-3. \u00a0The Aztecs clinched with a win at No. 2 as the pair of AJ Moore<\/a> and Langdon Tingleaf<\/a> fell to Fitzmaurice\/Hazli 7-5.<\/p>\n San Diego State immediately went up 3-0 with singles wins at No. 3 and 2. \u00a0Deaton fell at No. 3 and Brown at No. 2 in straight sets.<\/p>\n Tingleaf made it a 3-1 match as his win at No. 4 over Finn Willman in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 got the Falcons on the board.<\/p>\n The Aztecs clinched with the win at No. 5, as Alec Fritzinger<\/a> fell 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.<\/p>\n Head coach Evan Urbina<\/a> recapping the match: Air Force caps the season with a 9-13 record. \u00a0The Falcons graduate three seniors in Phillip Deaton<\/a>, Jack Brown<\/a> and AJ Moore<\/a>.<\/p>\n #7 Air Force vs. #2 San Diego State (SDSU 4-1) Doubles
