On April 1, the team announced on social media that they would play as the Blazers, an alternate identity \u201cinspired by The Town\u2019s culture, creativity, and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They must have known the fake promotion might catch fire because the post ended with, \u201cApril Fool\u2019s\u2026 Or should we really do this?\u201d By the end of the day, the Ballers were living the high life, getting featured in the online magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/hightimes.com\/sports\/its-no-joke-the-oakland-blazers-are-about-to-light-up-the-east-bay\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">High Times<\/a>. They promised that if their Instagram post got 420 comments, they would make the new brand a reality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"802\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Blazers-Uniform-1000x802.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-98896\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Sure enough, the Ballers rolled right up to that benchmark and beyond, announcing just a day later that the concept was \u201centirely too dope\u201d and that they would indeed take the field as the Blazers this season. The team couched the announcement as an apology, declaring, \u201cSorry that we ruined April Fool\u2019s Day.
