The luncheon is a fundraiser for the Anaheim Community Foundation, which supports nonprofits and programs across the city.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are available on Eventbrite. For more information, call the city of Anaheim at 714-765-4311.<\/p>\n<p>Carnegie Libraries\u2019 250th gift<\/p>\n<p>The Anaheim Public Library has been awarded a $10,000 gift by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the foundation established by Andrew Carnegie.<\/p>\n<p>The award was paid to the Friends of the Anaheim Public Library. This is a special initiative of the Carnegie group in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and honoring the roughly 1,280 Carnegie Libraries still serving their communities across the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The gift in recognition of the Anaheim Carnegie building will be utilized to produce a USA 250 Anaheim display at the Anaheim Heritage Center and on the library\u2019s website, to incorporate the bicentennial anniversary into the 2026 third-grade field trips and open house events at Founders\u2019 Park, and to upgrade scanning equipment used to preserve Anaheim history.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, call Jane Newell, heritage services manager at the Anaheim Heritage Center, at 714-765-6456.<\/p>\n<p>Library has busy schedule<\/p>\n<p>The Anaheim Central Library will host an Asian American Culture Celebration on May 3.<\/p>\n<p>From noon to 5 p.m., activities will include a self-guided garden tour, crafts, presentations and food sampling featuring Ono Hawaiian BBQ.\u00a0 The Central Library is located at 500 W. Broadway in Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>Also, AnaCon is coming to the Anaheim Central Library on May 16. There will be a cosplay contest, comics and sci-fi vendors and workshops and authors and illustrators to meet.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, call the library at 714-765-1880.<\/p>\n<p>Muzeo takes a look at two moments in history<\/p>\n<p>The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center has two spring exhibits opening on April 26, which will be on display through July 12.<\/p>\n<p>The Muzeo\u2019s Main Gallery will present \u201cConcrete Wave: Vans at 60 and the Birth of Anaheim Skateboard Culture,\u201d which is a tribute to Vans\u2019 60th anniversary and the pioneering skate culture that took root right in Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>In the historic Carnegie Building, \u201cCatching the Spirit of \u201976: America\u2019s Bicentennial\u201d will commemorate the nation\u2019s 250th birthday with a look back to 1976.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit MUZEO.org.<\/p>\n<p>Clean up with a councilmember<\/p>\n<p>Councilmember Kristen Maahs, who represents City Council District 5, has organized a cleanup on April 26 in an effort to work together for a cleaner, greener neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Meet at 9 a.m. at Pioneer Park, 2565 E. Helena St.<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and to RSVP by May 5, call 714-931-5269<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate Cinco de Mayo early with the city<\/p>\n<p>The city is planning its Cinco de Mayo celebration for May 2 at Center Greens Park.<\/p>\n<p>One of the city\u2019s newest parks, Center Greens Park is downtown at 305 E. Broadway. And on May 2, it will have a free family fun celebration for Cinco de Mayo.\u00a0 The event will have live music, ballet folklorico, food trucks, local business vendors, kids\u2019 games and activities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit anaheim.net.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate local art with WOCA<\/p>\n<p>The Warehouse of Contemporary Art has an evening planned to celebrate original and creative pieces.<\/p>\n<p>WOCA supports new and emerging artists through communication and community. Its event on May 16 at Radiant Beer Co. will feature art, live music, craft beer, food trucks and cmmunity.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be 6 to 10 p.m., check out paintings, photography, sculptures, videos, projections, jewelry and more by local artists.<\/p>\n<p>Radiant Beer Co. is at 1566 W. Lincoln Ave. Check wocagallery.com for more information.<\/p>\n<p>Anaheim Children\u2019s Festival participant invitation<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Anaheim Children\u2019s Festival is inviting local organizations to join in helping children and their families explore the world of art.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the art festival, which is free to the community, will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 16 at Pearson Park.
