TONIGHT, A FAMILY IS DEMANDING JUSTICE AFTER THEIR SON WAS STABBED TO DEATH IN DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO. 21 YEAR OLD DUSTIN DEWITT, FROM STOCKTON, IS BEING REMEMBERED AS A RAY OF SUNSHINE BY HIS FAMILY. VERY LOVING, VERY TALENTED. PUT A SMILE ON PEOPLE\u2019S FACE. VERY CARING AS WELL. LIKED. HE WORKED AT DUTCH BROS AND STOCKTON AND THE CUSTOMERS LOVED THEM. I\u2019M EDIE LAMBERT, I\u2019M GULSTAN DART DEWITT AND A WOMAN WERE STABBED NEAR THE YARD HOUSE RESTAURANT IN DOCO LAST NIGHT. KCRA 3\u2019S ANDRES VALLE SAT DOWN WITH HIS FAMILY TONIGHT. HE WAS JUST SO VIBRANT, VIVACIOUS. HE\u2019S VERY. HE HAS AN AMAZING PERSONALITY. HE\u2019S LOVED BY SO MANY. YOU KNOW, HE\u2019S JUST A RAY OF SUNSHINE. A LIGHT THAT SHINES SO BRIGHT. FOR THOSE WHO KNEW DUSTIN DEWITT, HE JUST CREATED JUST SUCH A HUGE IMPACT ON ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE THAT HE MET AND THAT HE ENCOUNTERED HIS FAMILY SHARING WHAT MADE HIM SO SPECIAL HAD A SPECIAL AURA. THAT KIND OF KEPT EVERYTHING TOGETHER. LIKE IT WASN\u2019T HAPPENING UNTIL DUSTIN ARRIVED. THE 21 YEAR OLD WAS TRAGICALLY KILLED IN A STABBING IN SACRAMENTO\u2019S DOWNTOWN COMMONS MONDAY NIGHT. HIS MOTHER SAYS SHE KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WHEN SHE NOTICED HIS PHONE\u2019S LOCATION HADN\u2019T MOVED FOR HOURS. SHE SENT HIS SISTER JESSICA TO CHECK IN ON HIM, AND WE WENT AND THERE WAS JUST COPS EVERYWHERE, AND I JUST, YOU KNOW, THIS HORRIBLE FEELING. FINALLY, SHE CALLED ME AND SHE\u2019S LIKE, AND THAT\u2019S WHEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE, YOU KNOW, THAT WAS THE WORST. THE WORST THING A MOTHER COULD EVER HEAR. IT WAS JUST A HORSE. IT WAS JUST. IT WAS THE WORST NIGHTMARE EVER. YOU DON\u2019T EVER WANT TO GET A PHONE CALL LIKE THAT. WE\u2019RE HURTING. IT\u2019S THE BIGGEST LIE. LOSS OF OUR LIFE. SOMETIMES YOU WERE LIKE, HOLD TWO JOBS, YOU KNOW? AND HE HUSTLED. NOW HIS FAMILY IS DEMANDING JUSTICE. AS SACRAMENTO POLICE INVESTIGATE, ASKING FOR ANYONE WITH INFORMATION TO COME FORWARD TO THE FULLEST HERE. YOU KNOW? ABSOLUTELY. WE KNOW THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE DOWN THERE IN DOWNTOWN.
