No. 1 Pair Records 29th Victory Of Year<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\tHUNTINGTON BEACH \u2013 The California beach volleyball team’s No. 1 pair of Emma Donley<\/a> and Portia Sherman<\/a> broke their own program record for single-season pair wins as the eighth-ranked Golden Bears split a pair of duals at the 2026 MPSF Championships on Thursday at Spiker Beach.<\/p>\n

Sherman and Donley registered a straight-set win over No. 20 Washington as part of Cal’s 3-1 win over the Huskies. It marked the duo’s 29th win of the season, surpassing the program record of 28 they set last season.<\/p>\n

The Bears’ victory over Washington moved them into an elimination dual against No. 2 UCLA with a spot in the tournament semifinals on the line, and the Bruins\u00a0came away with a 3-0 victory. The Bruins took the first set in all five matches but Cal pushed back on the Bruins, forcing three of the matches to go to a third set.<\/p>\n

Cal will now wait for its NCAA Championship assignment on Sunday.<\/p>\n
