{"id":282907,"date":"2026-04-24T00:32:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T00:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/282907\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T00:32:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T00:32:09","slug":"bed-bath-beyond-returning-to-southern-california-orange-county-register","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/282907\/","title":{"rendered":"Bed Bath &#038; Beyond returning to Southern California \u2013 Orange County Register"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2023\/04\/24\/bed-bath-beyond-plans-to-swiftly-liquidate-shutter-stores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Bed Bath &amp; Beyond<\/a> is returning to the retail scene, co-opting space within The Container Store locations.<\/p>\n<p>The retailer, which retreated to an online-only format at Overstock.com three years ago, will be available at 12 Container Stores in California, five in Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>Bed Bath &amp; Beyond in early April bought <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2024\/12\/23\/the-container-store-buffeted-by-rough-housing-market-and-competition-seeks-bankruptcy-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Container Store<\/a> for $150 million. Since then it\u2019s been preparing to reconfigure 98 stores nationwide with the popular housewares products.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20260423281194\/en\/The-Container-Store-Launches-Nationwide-Overhaul-Across-98-Stores\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">In an announcement Thursday<\/a>, The Container Store said it was launching a chainwide \u201cStore Changing\u201d event on Friday, April 24.\u00a0To make room for Bed Bath &amp; Beyond line, the retailer is liquidating \u201c30% of select categories\u201d from Container Store shelves.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the 98 stores will be reconfigured to a The Container Store + Bed Bath &amp; Beyond format, what the company is calling its \u201cfuture operating model.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Southern California combo formats are coming to:<\/p>\n<p>Costa Mesa: 901-G South Coast Drive (next to South Coast Plaza)<\/p>\n<p>El Segundo: 710 S Sepulveda Blvd. (Plaza El Segundo)<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles: 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 218 (Westfield Century City)<\/p>\n<p>Woodland Hills: 21949 Ventura Blvd. (Gateway Plaza)<\/p>\n<p>San Diego: 7097 Friars Road (Fashion Valley)<\/p>\n<p>Bed Bath &amp; Beyond closed its 360 brick-and-mortar locations in 2023 after filing for bankruptcy. The closures affected some 14,000 employees at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The company, founded in 1971, grew to be one of the nation\u2019s biggest retailers.
