San Diego scored 5 runs in the 9th inning and 1 in the 8th inning to rally from an 8-4 deficit in the final 2 innings, beating the Colorado Rockies 10-8.<\/p>\n
The Padres trailed 8-5 entering the ninth inning before Xander Bogaerts and Miguel Andujar hit RBI singles, cutting the deficit to a run. Then, with runners on first and third, Sheets launched a slider 379 feet over the right field wall for his third homer of the season. Making for a very happy birthday for the Padres slugger.<\/p>\n
San Diego’s Mason Miller earned his Major League Baseball best ninth save of the season and extended his scoreless streak to 33 \u2154 innings. That ties Cla Meredith for the longest run in Padres franchise history. The 27-year-old right-hander is tied for the eighth-longest scoreless streak by a reliever in the Expansion Era (since 1961).<\/p>\n
With the win the Padres remain tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers atop the National League West, with an MLB best 17-8 record.<\/p>\n
