BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 Former Kern County supervisor Zack Scrivner remains in compliance with the terms of his mental health diversion program as of Thursday.<\/p>\n
Superior Court Judge Marcos Camacho, Joseph Penney with the state Attorney General\u2019s Office and Scrivner\u2019s attorney H.A. Sala all agreed he was in compliance during a diversion hearing Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
Sala said Scrivner is \u201cdoing exceptionally well\u201d in the diversion program.<\/p>\n
The next hearing is set for June 4.<\/p>\n
On April 23, 2024, Scrivner took mind-altering substances before getting in bed with and allegedly touching his underage daughter, according to the state Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
He also illegally possessed an AK-47 style rifle and an AR-15 style rifle, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n
The Attorney General\u2019s Office took the case because Kern County\u2019s district attorney is Cynthia Zimmer, Scrivner\u2019s aunt.<\/p>\n
The AG\u2019s Office charged Scrivner with three counts of child endangerment and two counts of possession of an assault rifle, but not a sex offense, which allowed him to seek and be granted the mental health diversion.<\/p>\n
Scrivner was granted entry to the diversion program in December.<\/p>\n
If he completes all requirements in the diversion program, his case could get dismissed without any jail time or prosecution.<\/p>\n
