Spotify is celebrating its 20th anniversary by releasing a data-driven collection of its top 20 most-streamed artists, albums, songs, podcasts and audiobooks of all time. The anniversary also lines up with the average age of the USC undergraduate student body, according to the school\u2019s 2025 Common Data Set. <\/a>Annenberg Media spoke with Trojans to learn their thoughts on the music app\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift took the top spot for most-streamed Spotify artist of all time. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just think, objectively, she\u2019s had a lot more influence than many of the other artists on this list,\u201d Nayonika Arora, a sophomore math and economics major said. \u201cI feel like her music is so neutral that it appeals to a way larger audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

This win was but another title to add to Swift\u2019s collection. The singer won a 32 awards in 2026 alone, including seven trophies <\/a>at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in late March.<\/p>\n

However, not everyone was as pleased about the top 20 list. <\/p>\n

\u201cHow is [Swift] number one at the top of all these lists?\u201d said sophomore biochemistry major, Adison Gurley. \u201cShe\u2019s beating out a lot of other artists that people like more now. I think it\u2019s a bit overdone and definitely overhyped.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another artist who grabbed students\u2019 attention was runner-up Bad Bunny. After starring in the most-watched<\/a> Super Bowl halftime show of all time , the Puerto Rican artist\u2019s Spotify streams shot up 470 percent<\/a>,positioning him above high-profile names like Drake, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love Bad Bunny. And I like the people that like him. He has a good fanbase,\u201d Wynne Adamson, a sophomore biology student said. <\/p>\n

Gurley seemed to echoed this sentiment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBad Bunny being second, honestly, that brings me joy. I\u2019m glad that there\u2019s finally statistical evidence that he\u2019s so famous. He\u2019s \u2018goated.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Spotify data, Bad Bunny also leads inthe album top 20 list. His 2022 summer classic, \u201cUn Verano Sin Ti,\u201d is the most-streamed album ever with over 22 billion listens.<\/p>\n

Other top rankings included The Weeknd\u2019s diamond-certified<\/a> single, \u201cBlinding Lights,\u201d which topped the list of most-streamed song over the last 20 years. The podcast and audiobook rankings are topped by \u201cThe Joe Rogan Experience,\u201d and Sarah J. Maas\u2019 \u201cA Court of Thorns and Roses,\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n
