Someone who is somewhere far, far away is also feeling a thrill at spying a badger or strange bird or funky flower.

Of course, you don’t have to look solely for the offbeat, though the challenge does yield rare findings, both flora and fauna, each year.

Most importantly, your participation will “… help scientists track real-time changes in our planet’s biodiversity and better understand wildlife conservation.”

Find out more on this simple-to-join, oh-so-uplifting campaign to appreciate and understand the wild world around us.

What to KnowCity Nature Challenge 2026April 24-27Snap a photo of any animals or plants you observe and share…

[27
48,52,51,47,50,49,2268
0":"post-284155","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles","8":"tag-la","9":"tag-la-headlines","10":"tag-la-news","11":"tag-los-angeles","12":"tag-los-angeles-headlines","13":"tag-los-angeles-news","14":"tag-nature
["GET
