The Sacramento County DA’s office reports that Ali Mustafa Hudson was convicted of murder and attempted murder after fatally shooting his mother in 2021.<\/p>\n

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. \u2014 A man faces over 120 years in prison after being convicted of killing his own mother at a senior living facility.<\/p>\n

The conviction stems from a fatal shooting that happened in January 2021, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney\u2019s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At that time, deputies responded to the senior living facility for reports of a domestic violence situation involving Ali Mustafa Hudson and his mother, 66-year-old Ramona Hayes.<\/p>\n

According to the DA’s office, Hudson grew frustrated that deputies were there, asking them to leave, before he barricaded himself and his mother in her apartment. Prosecutors said Hudson then shot his mother multiple times, killing her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He then opened fire on the deputies, leading to a shootout, officials said. Hudson was hit by returning fire but was wearing body armor and was able to survive, the DA said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On April 23, 2026, Hudson was convicted of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, the DA’s office said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
