{"id":284555,"date":"2026-04-24T23:17:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T23:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/284555\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T23:17:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T23:17:07","slug":"sacramento-has-the-top-zip-code-for-ca-movers-report-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/284555\/","title":{"rendered":"Sacramento has the top ZIP code for CA movers, report shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new survey of U.S. ZIP codes with the highest influx of new residents showed one spot in Sacramento is the hottest place to move to in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Moving resource website <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.movingplace.com\/about-us\">MovingPlace<\/a> published its monthly report of the \u201c<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.movingplace.com\/moving-advice\/hottest-zip-codes-in-america\/april-2026#what-the-data-means\">Hottest ZIP Codes in America<\/a>,\u201d which tracked the number of moves per capita in each ZIP code to find the regions with the most movement during March.<\/p>\n<p>In California, a Sacramento ZIP code took the top spot.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s where people are moving to in Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p>How did MovingPlace determine the trendiest places to move in the U.S.?<\/p>\n<p>The moving resources site reportedly analyzes millions of relocation records in the country every year, using data from home services software company Porch Group.<\/p>\n<p>With this data, the MovingPlace team analyzes the origin and destination ZIP codes for thousands of moves each month. Moves within the same ZIP code and moves originating from a different ZIP code are both counted.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly study ranks ZIP codes by the number of moves per each 1,000 current residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe moves per capita metric highlights the ZIP codes experiencing the most intense migration relative to their population size,\u201d a news release from MovingPlace read. \u201cThis allows smaller or less densely populated areas with unusually high migration activity to stand out as truly hot ZIP codes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Where in Sacramento is the most popular ZIP code to move into?<\/p>\n<p>The trendiest ZIP code in the entire state of California during March was 95811 in Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p>This ZIP code covers a C-shaped area around the capital\u2019s downtown core, spanning much of Southside Park, Richmond Grove, western portions of midtown, the River District and the Railyards.<\/p>\n<p>During March, there were 6.6 moves per capita into this ZIP code, the most of any in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis part of the city is often described as the cultural hub making it popular with new movers looking to have easy access to metro\u2019s nightlife, parks, and events,\u201d MovingPlace\u2019s news release said.<\/p>\n<p>What other California ZIP codes have a lot of movement?<\/p>\n<p>Multiple parts of California had a respectably high influx of new residents during March.<\/p>\n<p>The ZIP code ranked second had only 0.6 moves per capita fewer than the Sacramento 95811 area.
