Chronicle<\/p>\n<p>Two musical greats from different eras will come together for two special nights in San Francisco, and I\u2019m thrilled to be a small part of the epic meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/entertainment\/article\/go-go-s-drummer-gina-schock-ready-to-share-her-21176543.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gina Schock <\/a>of the Go-Go\u2019s, 68, and pop-soul singer Martha Reeves, 84, of Martha and the Vandellas are scheduled to appear together at the Haight Street Art Center on May 14-5. On the first night, Schock and Reeves will be in conversation, moderated by yours truly. Having the camera, she noted, gave her entry into the scene and she still remembers what it felt like meeting her rock \u2019n\u2019 roll heroes including Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper and the J. Geils Band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were all great to me,\u201d said Schock.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She added that \u201cthe only person that was ever kind of creepy was Ted Nugent.\u201d The guitarist and singer of songs like \u201cCat Scratch Fever,\u201d \u201cStrangehold\u201d and \u201cJailbait,\u201d has faced allegations of sexual misconduct with underage girls since the 1970s, including one from Hole frontwoman Courtney Love, a San Francisco native. He has denied the accusations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGina Schock \u2014 Inside the Go-Go\u2019\u2019s\u201d comes after a slew of major recognition for the quintet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The band,known for hits including \u201cWe Got the Beat,\u201d \u201cVacation\u201d and \u201cHead Over Heels,\u201d became the first all-female group to top the Billboard charts. Other highlights of the show includes materials related to Schock\u2019s first band in Baltimore, Edie and the Eggs.
