The San Francisco Giants ownership group is likely adding another voice to the board.<\/p>\n
Thrive Eternal is poised to purchase a minority stake in the team, founder Joshua Kushner announced on Friday. Thrive Eternal is based in New York and calls itself a permanent capital holding company.<\/p>\n
Kushner, brother to President Donald Trump\u2019s son-in-law Jared Kushner, announced the partnership with the Giants as the group\u2019s first, adding in a statement on X that the firm was expanding to invest in \u201cassets with qualities that cannot be replicated by technology.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur first partnership is expected to be with the San Francisco Giants,\u201d Kushner wrote on X. \u201cAn institution built on more than a century of shared identity and community, and among the most iconic sports franchises in America. We have reached an agreement, subject to league approval, to acquire an ownership stake. We feel privileged by the opportunity to be long-term partners to the Giants.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Giants confirmed the partnership in a statement: \u201cWe have reached an agreement for Thrive Eternal to join our investor group, subject to MLB approval. We are thrilled with the prospect of Eternal becoming a long-term partner for the Giants.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Giants ownership group has been steadily taking on private equity groups since last year. Last March, the organization sold 10% of the team to Sixth Street, a San Francisco-based private equity firm that also owns the local National Women\u2019s Sports Soccer team Bay FC.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our first significant investment in three decades,\u201d Giants president and CEO Larry Baer said in a statement when that deal was made public.<\/p>\n
Arctos Sports Partners, a Dallas-based firm, owns about 2% of the Giants and owns a stake in the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n
The terms of the Giants\u2019 partnership with Thrive Eternal are yet to be announced pending\u00a0MLB approving the deal, the Giants said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Toronto Blue Jays DFA\u2019d former Giants infielder Tyler Fitzgerald to make room on their roster for catcher Willie MacIver. Additionally, the Milwaukee Brewers\u00a0DFA\u2019d outfielder\u00a0Luis Matos in a series of roster moves. The Giants earlier this season DFA\u2019d and traded\u00a0Fitzgerald and Matos for cash considerations. Matos was a top prospect in the organization who couldn\u2019t find his footing on the big league team.
