No active public threat after man with machete spotted in San Jose backyard<\/p>\n

(KRON<\/a>) \u2014 San Jose police are telling residents there is no active public safety threat after a man was seen holding a machete in a residential backyard Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Police received a report at 7:20 a.m. of a suspicious person with a weapon in the 1400 block of Herald Avenue.<\/p>\n

The suspect is described by investigators as a man with a skinny build, in his 30s, with a dark colored backpack and a machete, wearing dark colored clothing.<\/p>\n

His whereabouts are not currently known as police continue to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n

Anyone with details on the case or who sees suspicious activity is urged to call San Jose police.<\/p>\n
