The Encinitas Rotary Club has named Chris Ann Sarver, a dedicated leader with Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego, as recipient of the Encinitas Rotary2026 Peacemaker Award. Sarver is being recognized for more than three decades of service devoted to fostering peace, inclusion, and understanding among youth and families throughout the community, according to a news release.<\/p>\n
A former Boys & Girls Club member herself, Sarver has spent her career creating safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive. In her current role as Clubhouse Manager for the Griset and Ocean Knoll locations, she works directly with more than 250 youth each year\u2014many of whom face social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.<\/p>\n
Sarver is widely respected for her ability to bring people together and resolve conflict with empathy and intention. Through mentorship, structured programming, and meaningful daily interactions, she helps young people from diverse cultural, linguistic, and economic backgrounds develop empathy, mutual respect, and the skills needed to navigate differences, the news release stated.<\/p>\n

Beyond her direct work with youth, Sarver plays an instrumental role in shaping the culture of the club. She trains and mentors staff to recognize the dignity and potential in every child, helping to prevent bullying, reduce bias, and foster an environment where differences are respected and celebrated. Whether mediating everyday conflicts or supporting youth who are learning English, she consistently promotes understanding, compassion, and cooperation.<\/p>\n
