A California Democrat once convicted of DUI is racing across D.C. on a scooter, and the internet can\u2019t keep away from mocking him.<\/p>\n

Orange County Rep. Dave Min is pushing legislation aimed at micro-mobility, with a recent report showing him zip around Capitol Hill<\/a> on an electric scooter.<\/p>\n

The alleged hypocrisy is leading to social media commenters battering the congressman, who received probation for his 2023 DUI after he blew a .15 on a blood alcohol tester. Cops pulled him over after he coasted through a red light. Min got 3 years of probation after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wonder why Congressman Min drives a scooter to work,\u201d Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill wrote, <\/a>referencing his past DUI.<\/p>\n

\u201cBECAUSE HE GETS DUIs,\u201d RedState editor Jennifer Van Laar wrote.<\/a> \u201cIt\u2019s called a drunk-cycle (pronounced drunk-sickle).\u201d<\/p>\n

Others pointed out that his DUI should be talked about over his scooter escapades.<\/p>\n

\u201cE-bikes are an affordable, convenient, and popular mode of transportation in my district and across the nation,\u201d\u00a0Min said in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, the lack of oversight regarding e-bikes pose serious safety risks to our children and our communities. This bill will ensure federal e-bike standards are clearly defined while also empowering local governments to enhance their safety programs, keeping our communities safe while in transit,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The National Republican Congressional Committee isn\u2019t amused by Min\u2019s scooter-riding.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s downright pathetic that Dave \u2018DUI\u2019 Min wants America to see him as the face of \u2018micro-mobility methods.\u2019 For a man this small, a scooter is the only vehicle left that matches his stature and judgment,\u00a0after getting a DUI in a government vehicle. Californians deserve a representative focused on serving the public, not rehabilitating his own image,\u201d NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez told The California Post.<\/p>\n
