A major expansion of a popular food stand at Disneyland<\/a> Park is underway as officials look to keep up with surging demand for some of the park\u2019s most viral menu items.<\/p>\n

The Fantasyland eatery has long drawn heavy crowds, with guests lining up for items like jumbo smoked turkey legs and garlic cheesy brats, which have grown in popularity in recent years.<\/p>\n

Video posted to Instagram on April 23 by Disney Scoop Guy<\/a> shows new structural elements \u2014\u00a0including an A-frame roof and vertical supports \u2014\u00a0rising above construction walls near Edelweiss Snacks, the longtime alpine-themed stand located near the Matterhorn Bobsleds and Disneyland Monorail.<\/p>\n

Disneyland filed a building permit with the city of Anaheim in November to remodel the Edelweiss Snacks location, according to Theme Park IQ<\/a>. The permit calls for a new walk-up service window, a 518-square-foot prefabricated outdoor dining structure and a 169-square-foot shade canopy.<\/p>\n

Disney parks in Anaheim and Florida sell roughly 2 million turkey legs annually, according to WDW News Today<\/a>. The oversized snacks \u2014 described as \u201ccomically enormous drumsticks fit for a fairytale giant\u201d \u2014\u00a0have developed a cult following among parkgoers, with Yelp noting<\/a> that Disney has at times had to debunk rumors about the meat\u2019s origin.<\/p>\n

The garlic cheesy brat, meanwhile, began as a viral menu hack, with guest combining a smoked bratwurst and cheesy garlic pretzel bread before Disneyland eventually adopted it as an official offering according to MineChat<\/a>. Edelweiss Snacks expanded its standby queue n recent years to manage long lines for the popular item.<\/p>\n

The stand also offers mobile ordering through the Disneyland app, allowing visitors to skip the queue for select menu items.<\/p>\n

The planned expansion comes as Disneyland continues to adjust operations and infrastructure to accommodate steady attendance and evolving guest demand.<\/p>\n
