Almost exactly a year after he closed out Coachella<\/a> in 2025, Post Malone returned to Indio\u2019s Empire Polo Club late Sunday to headline the final night of this past weekend\u2019s Stagecoach festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho\u2019s f\u2014 thirsty this evening, ladies and gentlemen?\u201d he asked not long into the show \u2014 Malone\u2019s way of introducing his song \u201cPour Me a Drink,\u201d for which he opened a can of his beloved Bud Light by smashing it against his head.<\/p>\n

Stylistically, Malone\u2019s 90-minute set was in line with the shows he\u2019s been playing since he dropped his first official country album, \u201cF-1 Trillion,\u201d in 2024; the sound was high-gloss Nashvill-alia purveyed by a crack group of players including fiddlers and background singers.<\/p>\n

He did \u201cWhat Don\u2019t Belong to Me\u201d and \u201cWrong Ones,\u201d both from \u201cF-1 Trillion,\u201d as well as that album\u2019s smash single, \u201cI Had Some Help,\u201d for which Malone indeed received a bit of assistance from Shaboozey, who popped out at the end of the song to bellow a few lines in the chorus. (On record, \u201cI Had Some Help\u201d features Morgan Wallen, whom Malone quickly made clear had not made the trip out to the desert.)<\/p>\n

Malone also offered up country-fied renditions of some of his older songs, including \u201cCircles\u201d \u2014 it\u2019s about his favorite shape, he noted \u2014 \u201cRockstar\u201d and \u201cSunflower,\u201d which sounded especially lovely in this rootsy setting. And he did a bunch of covers, among them \u201cGive It Away\u201d (the George Strait hit, not the Red Hot Chili Peppers one), Garth Brooks\u2019 \u201cRodeo\u201d and John Michael Montgomery\u2019s \u201cI Swear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests? Malone brought out Jake Worthington and Braxton Keith \u2014 not exactly the high-wattage names some Stagecoachers may have been hoping for. And though the show was perfectly competent, it had a definite cash-the-check vibe, as though Malone were putting in the least possible work to satisfy his commitment.<\/p>\n
