First pitch originally was scheduled for 6:40 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>After heavy rains this afternoon, the grounds crew removed the tarp at around 2 p.m., and both teams went through batting and fielding practice. The Sox also held a Dog Day parade around the warning track.<\/p>\n<p>But after 6 p.m., the Sox announced the start of the game would be delayed because of an incoming storm. They estimated that the rain would clear after 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"AnchorLink\" id=\"list-4a0005\" name=\"list-4a0005\" data-cms-ai=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Hays, whom the Sox signed to a one-year, $6 million contract in February, has some pop in his bat.
