{"id":290344,"date":"2026-04-28T21:55:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T21:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/290344\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T21:55:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T21:55:07","slug":"cruise-ship-passenger-falls-over-balcony-to-her-death-near-catalina-island-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/290344\/","title":{"rendered":"Cruise Ship Passenger Falls Over Balcony To Her Death Near Catalina Island: Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Authorities are investigating the death of a woman Monday during a cruise from Long Beach that was sailing from Catalina to Ensenada, Mexico, <a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/woman-dies-carnival-firenze-catalina-island\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">KTLA reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened Monday morning on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-ships\/carnival-firenze\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Carnival Firenze<\/a>, a roughly 1,000-foot cruise ship that has a guest capacity of about 4,100 people and typically carries a crew of about 1,400 people.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Carnival said the woman plunged from the balcony of her stateroom and landed on a deck below, KTLA reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe female guest was traveling with family who alerted the ship\u2019s crew of the situation,\u201d the cruise line said.<\/p>\n<p>No details about the woman&#8217;s identity have been released, including her name, age, or city of residence.
