{"id":290535,"date":"2026-04-29T00:00:06","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T00:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/290535\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T00:00:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T00:00:06","slug":"suspected-burglar-escapes-after-swat-search-long-beach-post-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/290535\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected burglar escapes after SWAT search \u2022 Long Beach Post News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A suspected burglar with a felony warrant was able to escape police and a SWAT team despite a roughly two-hour search near an Alamitos Beach intersection.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly before 4:10 p.m. on Monday, a 911 caller reported that a person had broken into a home near the intersection of Third Street and Alamitos Avenue, according to Long Beach police.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to the scene and briefly spotted a man matching the description, but he ran off, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police set up a perimeter and called in a SWAT team to assist with the search because the suspected burglar had an outstanding felony warrant, a police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>The search appeared to be focused on a fenced-off construction site near the intersection.
