Daily Faceoff LIVE<\/a>, host Tyler Yaremchuk and co-host and former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton discussed whether or not the Oilers\u2019 performance means this seasoned team can complete the comeback against a team mostly new to the postseason grind.<\/p>\nTyler Yaremchuk: In the other series that\u2019s going six, I actually don\u2019t think that\u2019s the same\u2026 Edmonton jumps out to a 3-0 lead, they hold on this time. They win 4-1. Connor Ingram plays really, really well. Gives the Oilers maybe a little bit of confidence between the pipes which they\u2019ve been searching for. Lukas Dostal gets the yank after just 10 minutes, three goals on nine shots, but where I\u2019m going with this, Hutts, is I actually think now there\u2019s some pressure on Anaheim going into Game 6. I think Edmonton\u2019s got their swagger a little bit. And if you\u2019re the Ducks in the back of your mind, I think there\u2019s got to be a little bit of like, \u201cOh God, are they waking up?\u201d And like, \u201cOh shit, if we don\u2019t win game six in our building, we\u2019re in a world of trouble going back to Edmonton.\u201d Like, I know Anaheim has the series lead. They\u2019ve just got to win one of the last two. But I think there is a tremendous amount of pressure, just based on how last night played out.<\/p>\n
Carter Hutton: I totally agree. I think the comparison is perfect, the Buffalo to Boston versus this series is a way different amount of pressure, right? I think now you\u2019re trying to slay the beast of the Edmonton Oilers and Connor McDavid and the two-time Stanley Cup finalists, and you\u2019ve pushed them to the brink, and then your guy who\u2019s been a big difference maker, Lukas Dostal, has been probably one of your team\u2019s MVPs throughout this last few years, has a brutal game. He didn\u2019t look good, even the puck handling mistake, things going through him. And now you got to go home, and you know they\u2019re going to come out flying. I think there\u2019s a lot of question marks now as the Anaheim team. What I think can be a factor is obviously Dostal\u2019s numbers up here haven\u2019t been great, but again, that\u2019s a product of playing the Edmonton Oilers. He\u2019s just got to make timely saves when he can. Now can that veteran leadership you have in the room as Anaheim Ducks come into the equation here? Again, I\u2019m going to say the same thing tonight with the Tampa Bay Lightning. But you think about [Jacob] Trouba, you think about [Alex] Killorn, and they\u2019re missing Radko Gudas as their captain. Has that been a difference maker? Because I think now these young kids are going to feel the pressure of trying to knock out Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl at home. You lose this one, well, this series is on its ear now.<\/p>\n
