{"id":2928,"date":"2025-10-14T03:01:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T03:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/2928\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T03:01:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T03:01:07","slug":"vermin-violation-forces-brief-closure-at-rock-and-reillys-annenberg-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/2928\/","title":{"rendered":"Vermin violation forces brief closure at Rock and Reilly\u2019s \u2013 Annenberg Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">After a forced closure this weekend by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health due to a vermin infestation that was in violation of health and safety codes, Rock and Reilly\u2019s in the USC Village has reopened. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the department\u2019s website, Rock and Reilly\u2019s received 14 points and a major violation for being guilty of section 114259.1, which states that \u201cthe premises of each food facility shall be kept free of vermin.\u201d Another major violation was issued for failing to keep food contact surfaces \u201cclean and sanitized,\u201d but only 4 points were given for this offense. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The LA County Department of Public Health uses a scale of 100 to measure violations. Facilities that receive below 70 points on inspections see immediate closures. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a statement to Annenberg Media, Rock and Reilly\u2019s manager, Gabby Rodriguez, attributed the presence of vermin to a fumigation activity. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cRock &amp; Reilly\u2019s has always prioritized public health and safety. In nearly eight years of serving the USC community, we\u2019ve consistently earned perfect grades on every health inspection,\u201d Rodriguez wrote. \u201cOn Friday morning, building management fumigated a trash room located in a hallway adjacent to our restaurant. As is typical after fumigation, brief pest activity occurred in that shared hallway.
