Oakland, Calif. \u2013 April 30, 2026: The Port of Oakland announced that Standard & Poor\u2019s (S&P) Global Ratings has\u00a0maintained\u00a0its strong credit\u00a0rating, assigning an\u00a0\u2018A+\u2019 rating to senior-lien bonds and an \u2018A\u2019 rating to intermediate-lien bonds, both with a stable outlook.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The report highlights the Port\u2019s\u00a0varied revenue streams and\u00a0relatively stable\u00a0financial\u00a0metrics, which continue to support operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMaintaining strong credit ratings is essential to our ability to invest in infrastructure and serve the region,\u201d said\u00a0Port\u00a0of Oakland\u00a0Executive Director\u00a0Kristi McKenney. \u201cThis recognition reflects our disciplined financial management and the strength of our diversified business model.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Port revenues come from a mix of business lines, including aviation, maritime shipping, commercial real estate, and\u00a0Port utility. This balance helps stabilize finances when one area slows.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
S&P noted that while Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport passenger volumes have\u00a0declined\u00a0in recent years, the impact\u00a0to the Port\u00a0has been\u00a0mitigated\u00a0by rate adjustments, non-airline revenues, and stable\u00a0maritime\u00a0cargo activity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
