A Los Angeles-based band has suspended their tour after their truck and all their equipment inside was stolen in Oakland<\/a> ahead of a show in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

Members of Moonchild \u2014 Amber Navran, Andris Mattson, and Max Bryk \u2014 wrote the band lost all kinds of tour equipment and their truck ahead of a planned show that night at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, according to a message on Instagram<\/a> Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt had all our stage design, wardrobe, lighting\/audio gear, merch and instruments for the Waves tour,\u201d the message on social media from the jazzy-soul trio read.<\/p>\n

A Los Angeles-based band has suspended their tour after their truck and all their equipment inside was stolen in Oakland. Redferns<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we\u2019re heartbroken to say that we have to reschedule the rest of our tour. Berkeley, Sacramento, San Diego, we are so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe<\/a> has been set up to help the band recover the losses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe scale and amount of loss is immense. We\u2019re still processing it all,\u201d the message on the fundraising post read.<\/p>\n

The band shared the disappointing update on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese funds will assist with needs that aren\u2019t covered by other sources.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of Thursday, the band had raised more than $13,000.<\/p>\n

The music hall confirmed the band\u2019s cancellation in a post on social media about the Berkeley show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are heartbroken to say that the truck containing all of Moonchild\u2019s stage design, wardrobe, lighting\/audio gear, merch, and instruments for the Waves Tour was stolen last night,\u201d the message read<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to these unprecedented circumstances, this show and the remaining dates of the tour have been rescheduled.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reaction on social media to the terrible news was a combination of anger and sadness.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour NorCal fans apologize for this senseless behavior. We were (and still are) looking forward to seeing you and we hope our love and support speaks volumes,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n

Another added, \u201cAs a Bay Area resident, I\u2019m beyond embarrassed. You all deserve so much better.\u201d<\/p>\n

While a third person shared, \u201cOh damn!! So, so very sorry this happened to you all. Please let us here in Oakland know how we can support you in any way. I\u2019ve had s**t stolen out here before and got it back, so don\u2019t give up hope. Sending blessings to y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWow. I can\u2019t believe this s**t can just happen to genuinely the nicest people. Absolute shame on those involved,\u201d a fourth shared in the band\u2019s post.<\/p>\n

The Oakland Police Department<\/a> told The Post that a stolen vehicle report was filed and is under investigation. No other details were provided.<\/p>\n

The dates that have been postponed include shows in both northern and southern California. The new dates are as follows, according to the band\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The LA-based Alternative R&B group burst onto the scene in 2011<\/a>. Some of their albums include \u201cStarfruit,\u201d \u201cVoyager,\u201d and \u201cPlease Rewind.\u201d<\/p>\n
