Authorities say a 24-year-old Los Angeles man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the 710 Freeway, where one vehicle wound up in an embankment.<\/p>\n
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday to the northbound freeway and Del Amo Boulevard exit, where three vehicles collided far left lane of the freeway, CHP Officer Bobby Eurin said.<\/p>\n
Investigators determined a 24-year-old man was driving a Lexus sedan on the northbound freeway when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car and collided with the median concrete wall, Eurin said.<\/p>\n
The driver got out of his car after the crash and was standing in the traffic lanes when a Kia sedan slammed into the broken-down Lexus, which then hit the driver, Eurin said.<\/p>\n
After hitting the Lexus, the Kia careened into the lane to the right and hit a Honda sedan.<\/p>\n
The Lexus driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Eurin said. His name was withheld pending family notification.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlcohol and\/or drugs were a suspected factor\u201d in the crash, Eurin said. Authorities declined to say which driver was suspected of DUI.<\/p>\n
